Leivermann Injured in Playoffs

Thanks to Shane Frederick of the Mankato Free Press for bringing this story to my attention.

Future Maverick Corey Leivermann, who plays for the Fargo Force, will miss the remainder of the USHL playoffs after being checked from behind in last Saturday's game against the Omaha Lancers.  Prior to being injured, Leivermann scored the game winning goal for Fargo in a 4-2 win.

Corey is currently in good condition but suffered a concussion and received several stitches.  The injury occurred in the final minute of the game when C.J. Ludwig hit Leivermann from behind, knocking him into the boards head first.  Ludwig was given a game misconduct and an "intent to injure" penalty - which is currently being appealed by Omaha.
